about

Recorded in August 1992 at Stichting Steim in Amsterdam.
Recording engineer Hayo den Boef.
Remastered 2018 by Jan Balcar at Studio Bros. in Prague.
Special thanks to Michel Waisvisz who invited me to work at Steim that summer and Lucienne Vidah for all her support during my stay in Amsterdam.

It was my first time recording the Santoorpan in multi tracks in a recording studio. These Santoorpans were new instruments with two strings per note tuned in octaves. I had one tuned to an aeolian mode in C. The second was tuned to sharps and flats which created a chromatic scale between the two instruments.
All tracks are played in the aeolian mode with the exception of track 3 which uses the chromatic tuning from both instruments played together.
